Kylemore Abbey & Castle |
10 minutes from Letterfrack and on the shores of Lough Pollacappul, Kylemore Abbey is one of the most visited and photographed attractions in Ireland. Originally built as Kylemore Castle in 1871 by Mitchell Henry for his wife, Margaret, it has been home to the Benedictine nuns since 1920. The grounds feature the Abbey, a Gothic church, Victorian walled gardens, multi-lingual audio-visual exhibitions, lake and woodland walks, a craft shop, and restaurant. |
